INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Therapy is, first and foremost, a place to know yourself more deeply. Amidst our busy and frantic lives, protecting an hour each week to become more curious and compassionate toward yourself is a radical act.
Western culture tends to be fixated on consuming more, learning more, and doing more, with an emphasis on finding a “cure” or “answer” to a diagnosis. It is my belief that while shorter-term, behavioral-based approaches to therapy can be helpful, what we really need to heal is not more lists, tips, or homework.
Rather, it is my hope that our work together will serve as an invitation to become more authentically yourself, at home in your own skin, and to move toward greater experiences of freedom, peace, and connection, within yourself and in your relationships. Often, we carry wounds and messages that imply certain parts of us are must be hidden or cut-off in order to receive. Healing, then, is about reuniting what has been torn apart and separated: within ourselves, and between ourselves and others. The goal is not to achieve perfection or an immediate fix, but to move toward a greater sense of wholeness and integration.
I also believe therapy must work from the inside, out. Change comes not just from intellectual insight or head knowledge, but from a place of truly encountering and experiencing your deep, true self—not who you think you “should” be, but who you really are. This requires safety and time; you and I must build a relationship in the room, characterized by patience and care, for this kind of courageous exploration to take place. My role is to be a curious, reflective, and supportive collaborator along the way, as you journey toward self-discovery and healing.

Areas of Focus
I work with a variety of issues, including (but not limited to) attachment and relationship issues, identity development, self-esteem and shame, anxiety, depression, sexuality, spirituality, vocation and search for meaning, and exploration of racism, sexism, and other forms of systemic oppression. I am particularly interested in working with students, artists, and clients who wish to incorporate (or explore) spirituality into their sessions.

what you had to do, and began.”
